Sons of God & Lights to the World

Philippians 2: 12 – 16  12)  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  13) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings:  15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16) Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Romans 6: 22 – 23  22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants of God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Fruits of the Spirit

Galatians 5: 22 – 23  22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Christians are the elect of God

Colossians 3: 12 – 14  12) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved (set apart and loved by God), bowels of mercies (compassion), kindness, humbleness of mind (humility), meekness, longsuffering; 13) Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14) And above all these things put on Charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness. 

This should be our daily walk with the Lord.  I personally get challenged with this every day just driving to work and back.  As in most things concerning our daily life, these are things we should strive for every day.  We should study the fruits of the Spirit, and practice them until we have maintained perfection.

Jesus Christ the second Adam

I Corinthians 15: 45 – 58   45) And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48) As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49) And as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  51) Behold, I shew you a mystery;  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, un-moveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
