Homosexuality and Christianity. There seems to be a lot of fireworks on this
subject now days. The first thing I
would like to point out is that God did not make the gay or homosexual person
the way they are. In the beginning God
created man perfect and in the image of God.
When man turned from God, then everything that’s happened to man since
is mans doing not God’s. So if you are
in that situation, please don’t blame God.
Secondly I would like to point out, that God loves the
homosexual just as much as any other person walking this globe. Christ freely laid down his life so all
could be saved. God is no respecter of
persons, he sees us all the same. Acts
10:34 Then
Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no
partiality. The apostle Paul also states in Romans 2:11 For there is no partiality with God.
In God’s eyes we are all sinners until believe in Jesus
Christ to save us from our sin. When you
make that commitment, it doesn’t matter if your gay or homosexual or an adulterer,
or a fornicator, or lascivious or liar or thief or coveter or any other sin
that all people commit. The truth is, we
are all sinners and there are none righteous, no not one. Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep
have gone astray; We have turned, everyone, to his own way: And the Lord has
laid on Him (Jesus Christ) the iniquity of us
all. We all start out in
the same mess, and there is only one that can help us, and that is Christ. Romans 3:9 What
then? Are we better than they? Not at all.
For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all
under sin. When we come to him, we must know in our own heart
that we are sinful, and also know that he is faithful and just to forgive
us. We confess our sins to him, and
repent of our sins to him. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our
sins, He (Christ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. Christ then applies the blood he shed at Calvary’s Cross to our sins washing us clean before
God. Psalm 32: 1 – 2 1) Blessed is he
whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. 2) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does
not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile (deceit).
Anyone that comes to Christ, must believe that he is who the
scriptures say that he is, and if they believe then God considers them one of
his own and all their sins are forgiven.
What then? At this point you are
completely clean and if you died right that second, you could walk boldly into
God’s throne room and be guiltless of any wrong. Hebrews 4: 14 – 16 14) Seeing then that
we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son
of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15) For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16) Let
us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to
help in time of need. You
would be white as snow before God. But
usually we don’t die right that second, so now what? The next step is to step away from the old
ways, and begin life as a new creation.
It’s like quitting smoking. The
first few hours are easy, then the cravings begin. And as I said before, it doesn’t matter if
your homosexual, or fornicator (a person having sex outside of their marriage
partner) or any other problem, you must begin a life free of the old ways.
So if you are in the homosexual lifestyle and think that God
doesn’t love you because of what you do, please reconsider. Christ himself said, it is not the healthy
that need a doctor. Christ died for the
ungodly. At the time of Christ death, we
were all ungodly, we just didn’t realize it. His blood was shed for all humankind. All you need to do is believe. Please read my letter on becoming a
Christian. It’s easier than you think,
it free, and its eternal. And don’t make
the mistake so many people do, and feel they can’t come to God yet because of
their Sin. They want to wait until
“someday” when they can get the sin out of their lives, then come to God. You have to come just as you are. You cannot cleans yourself on your own, only
Jesus Christ can do that.
So what about Gay marriage?
What does God say about Gay marriage? Should the Church approve of Gay Marriage?
Should Christians accept Gay Marriage? What does the bible say about Gay Marriage?
Hopefully the scripture itself will answer these questions
for us.
The purpose of this article is not to condone or condemn,
but to give a scriptural perspective only.
Society will end up doing what society will do, and nothing will ever
change that. Morality based on any-ones
definition, cannot be regulated by law, but only by ones heart as an
individual.
If the gay community wants to join together, they will do
that with or without any laws, but scripturally speaking, it is impossible for
them to marry. You can call it anything
you want, but marriage. Remember I am
speaking from a biblical perspective.
The Christian conception of marriage is a sacred union
between a man and a woman that goes all the way back to Adam & Eve. When the two join together they become one
before God, and when they both give themselves over to God, then they also
become one with God. This is the way we
were created to be, man plus woman plus God all becoming one with each other.
Man was created in the image of God. Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
created he him, male and female created he them.
Genesis 2: 21 – 24 And the Lord God caused
a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and
closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken
from man, made he a woman, and brought
her unto the man. And Adam said, This is
now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because
she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and
his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.
In the above scripture we are told why marriage can only be
between a man and a woman. When God
created Adam, he created him in his image, and Adam was originally created both
male and female in one body. God had
created them as “one flesh” like the angels.
God later removed the female portion of Adam out of his flesh and
created Woman also in his image, so the male would have a mate to populate the
earth. Adam knew that this Woman God
presented to him had been taken from him, and he knew that the only way now the
male could be complete, would be to union himself back with the female, and the
two would become “one flesh” a complete being again.
Once Eve was taken out of Adam, he was no longer a whole,
but a half, and Eve was the other half.
When those two halves come together in marriage, they become a whole
again. This is made very clear in the scripture itself. Read Genesis 5: 1 – 2 very carefully. This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the
likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them,
and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. This verse very plainly states that God
created Man both male and female and called their name Adam.
Joining two Adams together or two Eves together does not
make a whole. They only become a whole
when the half that was whole is reunited with the half that was removed. Consider taking an orange and removing the
juice from the inside. You have two
parts of the orange. But if you wanted a
complete orange, you couldn’t take the juice from two and mix them together and
say “now I have a whole orange.” Nor
could you take the two empty orange shells and put them together without the
juice.
I hope this explains the biblical perspective of marriage,
and why it must be between a male and female only. Society can set laws governing the legal
definitions of anything, but if your desire is to be united with Gods approval,
then you must follow the biblical definition.
