It's all about Jesus

Whenever we talk about Christianity, we cannot give to much credit to our Lord Jesus Christ.  Every thing is about him and for him.  Christ did everything to save us from damnation.  There is nothing we can do or merit salvation on our own, but through our faith in the gospel.  The gospel is simply this:  Christ was the son of God and was crucified and died on the cross, and rose again through the power of the Holy Spirit, and now lives again.  And if we believe that, the same power that raised Christ from the grave puts to death the sin in us, and covers us with his righteousness.  It’s all about Jesus.  Paul puts it very clear in the following verses:

Colossians 1: 10 – 23  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son (Jesus Christ): In whom (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who (Jesus Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature; For by him (Jesus Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him (Jesus Christ), and for him (Jesus Christ): And he (Jesus Christ) is before all things, and by him (Jesus Christ) all things consist.  And he (Jesus Christ) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he (Jesus Christ) might have the preeminence.  For it pleased the Father that in him (Jesus Christ) should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his (Jesus Christ) cross, by him (Jesus Christ) to reconcile all things unto himself; by him (Jesus Christ), I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he (Jesus Christ) reconciled.  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven: whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Exodus 3: 13 – 14  And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name?  what shall I say unto them?  And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Mark 14: 61 – 62  But he held his peace, and answered nothing.  Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?  And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Whether we read the old or new Testaments, it’s still the same:  It’s all about Jesus.
